suddenly remember some of things I like about Tokyo...

they have toilets and food stalls at the train platform! so nice! unlike ours, where our toilets are outside the gantry and "no eating" signs are everywhere...haha...oh, and their toilets are so clean, cleaner than ours! can you believe it...

then hor, their customer service is also superb..unlike our salesgirls who always give us the "buy or scram" look..and the people generally are quite polite..
and the Japanese kids are so well-behaved and cute! so adorable! I rolled my eyes when I see Singaporean kids being rowdy and noisy and whiney...another point to why I'm not thinking about having kids now...hee..

ok, having said all that, I think Singapore is not that bad LA...haha...transport and food are cheaper and shopping is excellent! most importantly, my family and friends and you guys are all here! haha...

anyway, click below to see what Francis had collated about Tokyo!

my first post...

this is my first post. :)

bought a fruit juice press today at TPY! Shihao and James can probably re-enact the scene (how the uncle tries to promote this press). haha....

anyway we were deciding if i should get the fruit press, so we had our "AGM".haha...4 votes out of 7. majority wins and i bought the press! :)

it's not too bad and i just had two cups of orange juice for the day. it has been agreed that i'll bring the press for the retreat and u people can bring the fruits! haha...then we can all have a fruitful retreat!!

Just one more...takes more time. Have fun!

Yeap! Answer for the previous riddle is Peter. Ok...just one more puzzle.

Hidden Books of the Bible

The names of sixteen books of the English Bible are hidden in the text of the following paragraph. Can you find all sixteen of them?

I once made a remark about the hidden books of the Bible. It was a lulu. Kept people looking so hard for facts and for others it was a revelation. Some were in a jam, especially since the names of the books were not capitalized. But the truth finally struck home to numbers of readers. To others, it was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few moments for you. Yes, there will be some really easy ones to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a minister to find one of them, and there will be loud lamentations when it is found. One little lady says she brews a cup of tea, so she can concentrate better. See how well you can compete. Relax now for there are really sixteen names of books of the Bible in this story.

Have fun...

Bible riddle... Have a little fun! Got this off the net...

Who Was He?
There was a man who went one day
On top a Joppa house to pray,
And while he waited for his meat
He dreamed he saw a great big sheet
Let down from heaven, and inside
Fowls and creeping things did ride,
The one who prayed was told to eat,
For God had cleansed this "common" meat.
Who was he?

Fastest Fingers.. haa

something i came acorss in the newpaper yesterday....

hi JK!

sorry been really busy... and like juz finish my good frined's wedding being best man... hha.a... realli tiring man.... some teochew traditional thingy... must pick wife up at 530 before sun can like be shone on her... for good luck ... man..... crazy stuff!

anw.... was juz reading my newpaper yesterday.. and came across an interesting article of which i tot i wld like to share with esp the gals in JK.. or in fact anyother gal ....

the article toks about a true story of a Spore gal... who went on a innocent holiday trip with a guy frined alone... n like shared room with him n like becoz of "circumstances" she had to share the same bed for 2 nites.... seeming thinking that they are normal friends.. n he is a normal guy and seems friendly and like a good friend for sometime...

and ............. at the end of the day... she was molested by him whilst she was sharing the same bed with him.... and she put in her her blog which caused some violent comments from the public.... 'she was asking for it' ....??

but yah juz a reminder for all gals to practice alittle decrenment now n then and like to know that ... good frineds.... normal natured friends .. even like friendly firneds all are sinners and have fallen short of GOd ultimate standards of glory n holiness... and there are hormones... there are moments of weakness of the flesh.. there are the lures of the devil .... n they do exists... we all need to practice safety.. and to rather not take risks ... its like in the safety industry... we always tell our ppl... u can get away with 100 or even 1000 times of unsafe acts... but all you need is that one time to fail... n that one time may be fatal......

and guess this article is a good lesson for us all to learn n draw the mistake form... esp since its a spore gal.... n not some american story where "it-can-never-happen-to-me" tots might occur... yupz.... do be careful gals.... sometimes its not about convinence ... n not about savign moeny... got to know wat is right and what cannot be compromise... haha....

ok here is the link to the electronic website of newpaper....

http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/news/story/0,4136,168150,00.html?

i do not condone or agree to any of the extreme views posted.. but juz a tot to get ppl thinking perhaps?

cheers,

About Disneyworld..

Finally got the time to sit down and blog my thoughts on my Tokyo trip. Landed in Singapore just last Saturday, then unpacked, then Sunday went to help mum at her coffee stall after Service...man, am i tired..

Anyway, just wanted to say, the Disney trip was wonderful! It was the highlight of our Tokyo trip. We went DisneySea on the first day and Disneyland on the second, staying overnight at one of Disney partner hotels. The room was really neat and nice and has got the Disney feel! A bit only la..cos that hotel is not one of the main hotels..haha..

DisneySea was really dreamy, like Vienna! (unlike Elizabeth who can be at the real Vienna, I can only dream at DisneySea..haha..) It's so pretty that it's beyond words. I thought, the Americans are really smart and creative to come up with this idea of a Disneyworld..the buildings and technology they use are mind-blowing..of course, they are capable of coming up with anything that's money-making..Oops anyway, the rides at DisneySea are pretty fun too. Initially when we arrived, the place is so big that we don't know where to start. Then we began to plan and strategise and make full use of the 2 days to visit both places. Disneyland was not as fun as DisneySea because the rides are more for kids ( we queued for so long only to find ourselves twirling in some machine in Winnie the Pooh's dream and flying in Peter Pan's world and shooting with Buzz LightYears) and the scenery is not as nice. But when the princes and princesses came out (during parade shows), it's still these classics that can steal your heart away.
Oh, kudos to all Japanese who are working at the Disneyworld! They are so professional. They keep smiling at you and greet you and explain to you the safety precautions even though that may be the hundredth time they are doing it. And for those who are in costumes, they still smile joyfully and cheerfully and move about actively under the hot sun, and they really look like they are enjoying it and that helps in bringing the mood in, you know! I really admire them...i mean, can you imagine doing this over and over again everyday? I can't.. *salute!*

We bought some stuff at DisneySea too and this is one of it!

Isn't it nice?! Hee...with that, I shall end my entry. In the end, only managed to talk about my Disney trip. Shall wrap up my whole Tokyo trip tomorrow! (sorry that i'm talking too much here! hee)

Oh, can view my photos here http://good-times.webshots.com/album/563797455IXcIyq

To LCQ (all can read also la..)

JUNQUAN....i so let you down!! sigh..there was a misunderstanding and we didn't get the cake. ok, let me explain.

(for those who dunno what's going on, junquan actually helped me call SQ and requested for a honeymoon cake, a service they provide to newly-weds..)

we boarded the plane and were sitting near the window seat so getting up was a hassle. then, i don't know how to approach the air stewardess and ask them cos i shy..but i thought, cannot let junquan's effort go to waste! and also, this is meant to be a surprise for Francis! i must do it! so finally, at about 1, 2 plus in the morning (ours was an overnight flight), i got up and approached an air stewardess and told her about the cake thingy and she asked when do i want it to be served. thinking that we just had supper, i said, why don't you serve 1 hour before the plane lands. then i went back to sleep...sleep until 5plus and they came over but we didn't know! of course seeing that we're asleep, they didn't disturb us. then Francis got up before me and went to toilet and the guy actually asked him whether he wants the cake. then Francis blur and said we got married half a year ago, not really newly-wed so no need to have the cake..i found out only after i woke up which is the time about to land already...oh man..

sigh..that's the whole story lor..so sorry leh..

oh then hor! i'm so sad! cos A380 wasn't that fantastic..the economy class looks the same as 777 lor (or was it 747 that we took? aiya..one of it la..)! i thought maybe the business class and first class then got big difference..but you know what's the saddest thing? Paul Chow said I should have explored cos there're 2 levels (there's a staircase somewhere for you to go up and down) and a snack bar at the back! i did try to explore! but as i was walking, everyone's looking at me as if i were a terrorist then i don't dare to walk and just went back to my seat...argh!! i'm so sad!! i miss the real A380 experience!! (ok..hmm..sounds like the A380 experience is climbing stairs and visiting a snack bar..but the difference is, it's in a plane!) so guys, if anyone of you is taking A380, remember to climb stairs and visit the bar! and maybe you can dash into the business and first class and check it out when no one's looking..we peeped through the curtains..they looked like they're sleeping in capsules..haha..

ok, adios! i'm gonna blog about my Tokyo trip now!

Here's something from Taipei for you

Really wanna testify that God is good. Though it was raining when we got here, in the evening when we went to shilin, rain stopped. It was a breezy walk through the night market of shilin. Also thank God that he restored my tastebuds and ability to smell so that I can sniff out the delicious food! The XXL chicken really good, the girls wanted to buy more and dabao... guess what we couldnt even finish one piece per person. The mango snow ice was really good!!! Lastly Huiim bought duck tongue and rebekah and me tried it... absolutely gross cos it is so chewy and you know it is the tongue!!!! yucks! U dun believe it? Try chewing ya tongue!

- O Carol :)

Back from family camp!

Hi knights!

Elisa , carol and me are back from family camp. Heading to taipei tomorrow!
It's quite a fun and relaxing time at the family camp. Something that touched me alot during the camp. I saw old uncles and grandmas.. responding to altar calls (chinese cong) I am humbled by their respond towards God. God spoke to me about my attitudes towards my family... How have I been a testimony at home? Not really good I guess... got whacked by God.. haiz... Nevertheless, God assures me that He is with me and will never leave me. Yeah...

Hope to see all of you soon....

Hui Im ...Joy

Hello... anyone got miss me?

Hello JK,
Got miss me, elisa, hui im and terry and of course LCQ and Elizabeth? Better say you all do... or else!!!! haha... soon we will be gone again... so i must drop you all a note!

Aiyo! Brandon!!!! Jiawei will get jealous wan.... cos his girl friend also called Elizabeth too! You haven't met her, she's overseas for exchange programme now in Vienna! Glad you enjoyed your camp and you are still in one piece!

Wah... all of you ate so much when we are away during the family camp... not fair man! But don't worry during family camp, the food was quite good too! I think I will have trouble losing weight after eating so much in BKK, family camp and soon to be eating in Taiwan. Wah... when I checked out what to eat in Shilin, Taipei, can really drool man!

Sigh... but i am sick and i cant seem to taste or smell anything! That's why i left my Jco donut in the oven too long and didnt know it was burning already. Sigh... then my mom kept scolding me and saying i was stupid not to smell the burning smell... Sigh she smelt it but didnt tell me! Kinda stormed off in the morning. Have been reading about having difficult conversations with people so that the relationship can be restored.... so i decided to giving her some pocket money, watch tv with her and buy her nice cakes.

Anyway... Family camp was good! Aunty grace prayed for me to have God's vision and direction...when she finished praying, the speaker said pray for Singapore and Malaysia but I heard him say pray for Nepal. I guess maybe I was hearing audible voice from God? Still praying.

The bus driver on the way back kept getting lost. Vincent said he got bus phobia. At night I actually dreamt that I was back in Nepal but keep getting lost and not reaching the kathmandu square! sigh... i also have bus phobia.

Well didn't regret going for the camp but regret eating too much chips, durian and stuff... sore throat! Elisa is so fun to be with in the same room... playing with Noah and Naomi is also such a joy! In all the combi of people i hang out with is awesome. God's word was really powerful and spoke into my heart about my calling and also about how i treat my family members. Must really learn to love them with God's love!

That's all.... keep missing us... that's right! Pray for us too!

Oh Carol :)

wheeee

i love Elizabeth!

Na its just my group name =P my group have little girls anyway hehe...

So i was back from a wierd/special 3 day OBS course.. wierd/special cos its requested by MHA or something, as part of a 6 day attachment... yes my group of 10 was called Elizabeth. in some way the course is really designed for us haha, and most of the activities we did it by ourselves without help from instructors... And we this 3 days, we did things that some 5 day courses wont get to do. cool huh! Also special, cos no one knew one another at all... There were students from every JC and NUS high. and i've nvr met someone for talk so fast and much (guy) and someone who is so blur but tolerant (girl) (90% of the time the group is laughing, we're laughing at her oops hehe) oh ya my group almost late all the time =P

Guess what was the first activity we had? BIG SPLASH!! The boat anchored a distance away from Ubin and we had to swim across wahahah... really suprising. Later on we went for cross expedition and had to navigate around with maps and compasses to find certain stuff. Sadly my group didnt find anything, but bashing through vegetation and spiderwebs is fun =) they expected us not to be "childish" to compare results and everyone somehow knew that teamwork was more important.

Then we set up tents and stayed there for the night. I have no idea what was in my mess tin for dinner. ( probably got mud and insects) but i just ate all the maggi noodles up hehe... After that we were made to navigate in rows in big tubes which were pitch black... literally cant see anything... we were randomly shuffled into 3 diff groups which start at diff points, and gather back into our own groups at a room where we can stand... not easy but we made it woo! feels quite helpless though :S

The next day we had sea expedition in kayaks! row row row, and we had salted food during our breaks! not that they're salted before, but ya wahahaha... i ate a salted prune, but it was quite disgusting :S On our way back, many started to become tired, and we started switching boats here and there so that everyone can progress! nice isnt it? everyone cared for one another =)

3rd day was climbing, where i knocked a little. but im fine, no needa bomb me with questions. I'll freak out >.> oh ya it was funny when we went to the souvenir shop. The girls waited for the guys while we shopped, instead of the other way round. They all didnt buy anything >.>

Overall learnt alot ba. Got to know new people and you realise the world seem so small haha. Its so interconnected. Some people are really really up there one, capable and stuff.. to call all 29 of usthey sometiems use the terms "scholars to be" funny man... anyway 1 guy was confident enough to say im eyeing for ____ scholarship haha... and he isnt a geek! hes a breakdancer from tj IP. (im surprised many of them arent hahahahaha) And his portfolio is kinda prepared since sec 3 in TJ, while commoners like a few of us start at J2 haha... Not directly saying sajc is bad la, but other school seems to have alot of opportunities open to them. many many attachments and competitions and programs lined up for them, until can reject some de...

But anyway after knowing them, im stil and even more thankful for getting the bookprize from SPF, even though its month ago. So many other capable people there, but some forgot, or wasnt really eligible. If everyone did sign up, chances of me getting is almost none haha... wa, thank God.

Good learning exp, would be good if the church send people down =P Can really bond people together!

Anyway today continued the 4th day with the Home Affairs department... went to visit the Traffic police, Secret Operation thing, and the Security Command. I get to hold a gun and fire a water cannon today! haha. oh ya traffic police dont have a quota to summon people and sometimes they summon their own people hehe... Real gunshots are really loud and you can feel it somehow. man, i miss tmr's prison visiting cos of NS check... zzz...

OBS felt like a fantasy island, and coming back was like... back to reality haha... besides chionging to wash all the "heavenly" smelling laundry, have to study... im not whining lol... And i'll stick to the phrase terry korkor gave me " I LOVE TO STUDY" yea whoo! i cant seem to attach the banana he gave me soo, nvm! back to reality!!!!!! (oh ya pray for him, i think he not well again!)
edit: and ill miss the food a OBS. buffet style and ITS GOOD!

Dearest Serene

Hey dear,
About your question, just a quick reply. I don't think the passage means we should always be covering our heads when we pray or we should be punishing women who don't by shaving their heads. Paul was giving instructions on public worship in that chapter and specifically addressing the issue of the posture of women in worship. Background: The city of Corinth is a wealthy trading center and it was known throughout the Roman world as a wicked city. Because the church in Corinth was new, it was hard for the Christians there not to act like their neighbours; consequently the church was having some problems.
Hence, paul wrote this reply to rectify some erroneous thinking in the church. In this case is the women in the church of Corinth was possibly taking over the role of men in church leadership and reversing God's order of the men as the head of household and as leaders in the church. It is possible to assume too that given this culture in the Corinthian church, the women maybe putting down the men in the community and not supporting them or raising them to take on the role God has given them.
Therefore Paul had to lay down clear rules for the women to cultivate a culture of gentleness and submissiveness to the men in their midst, so that they will be a people who will honour God and be a light to the warped culture in their city.

There maybe other views to this issue so I encourage you to read up since you are really interested. And listen to the Holy Spirit as you read so you will know and understand God's heart and intention behind Paul's writings.
I think I will read up in my life application and see if I can also give you a more eloquent answer to your question.
Anyway, found this on the net: http://christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-f003.html
Hope this is helpful for you :)

CHICKENS

HAHA WE ATE QUITE A LOT TODAY.. SUCH THAT I COULDN'T PLAY BASKETBALL PROPERLY AFTER THAT!! haha the others will post the pictures/videos.. simply, we went to the chicken place, near the bubble tea store there and ate. 8 people ate 2 chickens, 2 plates of tofu, 9 bowls of rice!! There was like 4 bowls of soup too, and we spammed the soya sauce and chilli sauce!!

ok the treasurer me is acting up again!!
Here goes (supposed breakdown of costs, jiawei will refund back to those people who pay extra(tbc))
: By alphabetical order
James, Shi Hao 2 x $10=$20
Jiawei, Seng Yang 2 x $6=$12
Jasmine, Cynthia, Cosette, Shu Hui 4 x $4= $16
Makes up $48+ for just food. (haha joking J doesn't start first in the alphabet, just lik J more hahhah)

Actually, rather expensive right.. Did they count like one bowl of rice costs $1? $20 for a chicken is already quite expensive..
Let's assume it's
: Rice 9 x $0.30=$2.70
Chicken 2 x $20=$40
Tofu 2 plates(two pieces per plate)=4 x $1.50=$6

Total: $48.70

As you can see, it's not so cheap after all.. BUT BUT, PRICE OF FELLOWSHIP IS

greetings from japan!

hey guys!! me blogging in from Japan! we're having so much fun here! Am glad you guys did as well on Friday evening...i wanna go eat the tubs of ice cream at river valley too! haha..

i shall begin with our sua ku SQ flight. can you believe it? it's our first time taking SQ! we're so used to budget flights that everything about SQ amazes me. haha.. we sat down and a screen and remote control greeted us. we looked at each other, wondering how to operate it, while the guy beside us did it effortlessly..but well, given my husband's intelligence, we figured it out in no time. heehee.. can watch the new movies and play games and listen to songs! then comes the food...we were like thinking, will we be charged? becos on Tiger Airways or Jetstar or AirAsia, even mineral water we have to pay for it lor.. oh man..so happy to just eat and drink for free la! (ok i know it's all included when we bought the air tickets =p) other than these, they serve you hot towel when you board and every seat has a blanket and a small pillow for you.. so cosy!

ok ok...enough about SQ..think people are starting to roll their eyes already.. haha =p

we're staying in Francis' brother's apartment which is just beside the Singapore embassay (he's working there!) and it's so comfortable (and affordable! actually..at zero costs.. =p)! went to Odaiba on Saturday to walk around and check out the Rainbow bridge..bluff me one..looks so much nicer on internet lor..and it's not as rainbow-ny as on the website..

we were so tired at the end of the day already because of the overnight flight we took..but we survived through! we went to an authentic japanese shop (those with wooden chairs and tables, cloth curtains and japanese guys with a bandana on their heads..) and slurp our ramen away...it was so yummy that Ajisen pales in comparison..haha..

we just came back from Tokyo tower (I thought it was nicer looking from the outside than from the inside..ha), going to Disneyland tomorrow! so gotta sleep now..shall blog more later..

take care guys! love ya all and God bless! and please do not overeat!!! hahaha...

ok back to friday!! haha... some of us met up today at clementi for crabbies n like Zee Char! hahha... had
-mai pian xia, pai ku wang, kang kong, fried shrimp paste chicken, tie ban tou fu, n of couz...

the crabbies!.... haha the pepper was peppery.. but the chilli crab was tomato-ey..... hahha... felt kinda bad for brandon who didnt eat the crabs.... haha.. we were like oh tks man! haha... n juz did wat JK ppl would do... hahah.... have no complain watsoever n ate up all till only the sauce is left... haha... having only 70% full by knights standards.... we proceed onto ice cream!! watelse cld go down on the icing to wrap up a crabbie nite rite... hahaa n we followed gene's rage to river valley area for a new found n rather well kept ice cream place!!.... unlike the hype n students of island creamery ... this was really a nice place where seats were readily available n realli no fuss!... juz ice cream.. n its good.... esp the D24 durian.... oh man... its like really cold durian but softer!.... it has traces of bits of D24 durain teasing yah taste buds..... which added to the fullness of texture of the ice cream that wld creat an illusion of u eating like real durains... *mouth watering indeed!* .... but think cosette wld say otherwise... aha she has her vote set on the berry berry sour berry icecream.. hahha.. n she even has the almost same colour tee to show her full support for it! haha... but.... the turth prevailed! she bought home a tub of D24 ice cream ! along with 4 others... haha.... 5 more tubs n gene get to fill up his carbs for chops! come ppl... let get it to 10 in 3 mths time! hah

good times!... juz passing around triple 3 of 3 tubs of 3 scoops of ice creams... and passing the laughters n conversations ard the table too.... wat a grt way to start the weekend!

oh... guess the only thing to kinda dampan the mood was that i kinda scraped the side bottom of my car while U-turning to get to the ice cream stall.... the hair raising sound still lingers for a while... n i had to do the eventual confessing.... thinking of wat good excuses i can conjure up to make it sound easier to my dad..."oh i swerve to save a cat on the road...!!" .. but jasmine very gently reminded me juz to speak of the truth ! (tks jas!) Yupz.. which i did when i came home.. n my dad out of his love for me juz said its ok n tell me not to worry over it, he will get it fixed n it be as good as new... which kinda made me feel if my earthly dad; upon my mistakes coming to him with confession n getting the forgiveness can make me feel so relieved n loved.. wat more then wld the final day when i meet Jesus...

n He wld to tell me....." Joel.... you are forgiven.... I will get it fixed n it be as good as new....."

Juz a tot... kind felt really good to be forgiven after a real mistake.... thank GOD for my dad! haha

okz.... if i hadnt been so preoccupied abt the car.. i might have taken some pics at the ice cream place... maybe next time! we got 5 more tubs to go! haha..
mean while u can take a look at the video below.. its my very first day n first trip to bukom my work palce.... haha.. to gene, terry, lcq, even ron.. dont the fast craft look familar??? hahha... i was like oh man.... tekong days.... sheesh....

lets come together to share about our spiritual gifts!

-Jocelyn-

Something nice!

Just had my lunch at anchorpoint. There's a new stall selling crepes at the basement level. Nice crepes. (chicken and cheese) haha... filled with nice salad.. corn, crispy cold lettuce, jap cucumbers... crispy crepes. Really enjoyed that for lunch. If you happen to drop by, do try it! :) Mister Crepes.

Something that I've learnt last night during COR@ prayer:
Rev John Loong used Psalm 118 to pray...
5 prayer points

Confidence (The Lord is with you... Remeber that God is your confidence and no others should take that place)

Courage ( Who shall I be afraid.... Courage to speak and act in truth..)

Contentment (Be contented in our lives rather than being disatisfied)

Commitment ( Pray against commitment phobia..esp in church)

Conquest ( Missions... the work in other nations)

Ha... 5 Cs ..found it rather interesting.. Do take time to read Psalm 118.
Have a blessed day ahead!

oh yar...

Just want to add that I don't blame the people at the weather station or meterologists for not warning the people in time. Working in a lab, I think monitoring instruments/instruments of measure can be highly inaccurate at times. Even the readings were reportedly considered to be inaccurate, I think the natural reaction would not be to trust them right? Even if they give a high reading, you would want to test them again or have other more reliable tests to make sure that you interpret the first results correctly. But sometimes I think people may be limited to equipment and resources to be able to have all these. If not the high readings would just be interpreted as an abnormally and you would just dismiss it.
Also there is the problem of human pride/behaviour/inconscienousness (ahh my spelling is terrible).
It was the same case for the 2004 tsunami. There were people who knew that a tsunami was coming and some warnings had already been sounded to authorities... but no action was taken and some people still stayed on the beach even when the the warning had been given in some places.

Hmm, I suddenly thought of this song:
I don't worry about tomorrow
I just live from day to day
I don't borrow from its sunshine
For its skies may turn to grey

Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know He holds my hands

Thanks for reading... Jasmine :D

hmm...

Well, felt compelled to say that actually I think God allows all things to happen because ultimately He is in control and He could choose to stop the earthquake if He wanted to. The question then goes back to the one about why does God such things to happen (evil and suffering). Not easy to answer but I'm sure if you really want to know there are a lot of sound Christian teachings on that topic.

I know the earthquake has brought about a lot of pain to many people but I've seen some things which have come out of it which I thought has been pretty positive. China being more willing and open to receive aid from her neighbours (particularly Japan/Taiwan). Recently, I saw a fund raising concert for aid relief put together by Hong Kong, Taiwan and Chinese artistes. One of the show was a cantonese Christian song where a group of people were sharing about the love of Christ and the hope He will bring. So it really surprised me to see that God is also working through avenues such as these. It was a picture of reconcilliation to me too. I think in some ways it really rallied the people together (especially the Chinese no matter where they are).
Encourage you to share the hope that you have in Christ to people around you who are finding answers and hope to the recent tragedies. I'm afraid that the time is not too near when people's hearts will not be moved or numbed to these events. One friend in lab came in late one morning because the MRT was delayed as one person had jumped onto the track to commit suicide. It really shocked me because she was complaining to me how irritated she with the delay and asked why did the person choose to jump the track and inconvenience the trainful of people. I thought it was really sad when people start to see an incident as this as an inconvenience and not see it as a tragic loss of a life. A life precious to God.
I remember telling her that lives are precious and if the person survive. I think it changed her perspective a bit because she was probably thinking of her own loss rather than another person's loss. Sometimes I think that's our role in bridging people to God helping them to steer them from their own thinking towards God's view.
Jia you Jeremiah Knights, may each of you be a shining light wherever you are :)

Jasmine :D

something amazing

oh man, i missed the lunch ahaha. was busy flagging bikers to the CORRECT direction. Quite boring actually. i rather go for service...

anyway my friend shared with me something. Its a sharing that one of his church members shared, about the earthquake thingy recently. I only know that guy is some bigshot involved in this kind of things.

( i dont know my geog well, but this was what i heard) earthquakes are caused by the earth plates err squashing against each other right, then one will give way and they overlap. So the pressure created can actually vaporise the minerals within these plates, into the air to form linear, coloured clouds. I cant find coloured one on the net, but i found a wierdly linear one, and the caption said an earthquake happened 1 hour later.

animals will behave strangely also, cos i supposethey can hear the low frequencies?

And also 25 years ago, scientists have already calculated that sichuan lies on a fault line, and it will experience a massive earthquake with many repercussions ( as in quake and quake at large magnitude after some short intervals) The fault lines have now moved towards beijing liao... err that should be very very bad...

similar for myanmar ba, cos there would be changes in wind patterns and stuff

IT IS POSSIBLE to shift the whole civilisation away to safety, BUT, its not economical and billions of dollars will be lost by closing a state like that. Also, the predictions are not accurate and the scientists' heads would probably roll if they predict wrongly. The prediction can only more or less comfirm that something is gonna happen.

SOOO, it wasnt God who allowed all these to happen. In Genesis, God did say that man will rule over the land and animals right? yea God provided the signs, but due to human IRRESPONSIBLITY, many many people die... =

I found it really amazing when i heard it haha... should be true ba... and oh ya, its quite impossible for singapore to experience any natural disasters, besides flooding... lol.. and please tremors are not disasters =.= Thank God for Singapore.

Common Test Bluesss...

You guys sure have enjoyed the bowling session! Guess I have missed the fun:(

小妹我, have been hibernating at home, studying very hard due to common test. Had Marketing paper today. It was a tough paper cause I did not have enough time to revise, so the last chapter I kind of just scan through and I almost could not finish the paper. Thank God I manage to complete my last question within 15 minutes. haha!

After my paper, went to mass media sales with Carol. Wanted to get NIV compact bible with index, those kind that I can bring to church for service and can fit into my handbag kind but I couldn't find it, like not selling anymore. If any kind soul know where I can get the bible, let me know ya.

Carol and I met up with Joy for dinner at Vivocity food republic. We had depot road clay pot laksa, hokkien noodles ( 2 plates) and a plate of handmade fish ball and deserts. Wanted to take some pictures of out food to post it on the blog but Carol says guys who might be interested in us might be scare off by us cause we 很难养,eat too much liao. haha!

We went shopping after dinner and did not realise that I left my wallet at food republic until my brother called me from home to tell me that someone found my wallet. The kind soul who found my wallet actually took the trouble to phone my home. There is a medical appointment card with my residential number printed on it and I guess that is the only number he can find in my wallet other than lots of receipts. Haha!

Thank God that I manage to retrieve my wallet back:)

To Carol and Joy: Please post our beautiful pictures for all to view, good things must share. Whahaha!

To Jocelyn: Thanks for creating the blog, I think it aids communication and hopefully, we can all improve our English standard:)

=) Serene, the cute one

Pasta Mania

Many thanks for those who joined us for pasta... even though it ain't your fave (Serene!) but it's definitely mine! I love pasta! Here are the pics! Glad that though we are one big family... we learn to be accomodating and eat together! Sorry if i always sound like a teacher...trying to keep the class together... cos I am one!

So funny when we crossed the road at PS last sun and the cars were horrible, the huge bus was goes-taning... I can't believe that I shouted out... "everyone be careful, cross the road quickly" when there was only me, joy and the passerbys i dun know... the teacher in me is just acting up!

- Oh Carol! -

Jeremiah Explosion!

Its really amazing that God has brought so many of us together from all walks of life! Suddenly the population of guys like doubled in the cell! We must not only meet together, but continue to spur each other to grow! Eh... hopefully not sideways...

Well some cell group can run marathon together... but I can only imagine Jeremiah knights have marathon eating together! Well.. the bowling, cycling and nintendo wii sports (tennis & boxing) are the first small steps we are taking towards a healthier lifestyle!

Well Jeremiah rocks... literally the car and the boat when all of us are trying to squeeze into it. Thank God for the BMW(L), Toyota (L), Honda Fit(M), Murano (XL) and last but not least my faithful (S)unny! God provides us the transport when we really need it!... like the bible said... we are all in one ACCORD... hahah

- Oh Carol! -

-Jocelyn-

Aiyo

This is unfair.. Must share the entertainment. Confirmed is something to do with Jloh e.. Sigh fellow loh, wad'd u done!!

Replying to James..

James! You are a problem kid! Ask so many questions! haha..

The "we" in Brandon's email is referring to Becky, himself and his friend, I think. Becky was being nice to send the 2 boys to NTU then somehow they got lost.

The "entertainment" is for us to know, for you to find out! haha!

Elizabeth (JW's girlfriend) posted after Brandon.

Hope this answers your questions. Don't ask anymore!

-Jocelyn-

Great times!

Wah... this is really cool. Joc, thanks for creating this. I am quite positive about this blog. I think it will last for quite some time. Quite a sight to see pastamania so packed with us today. It's really something.

During service today, it really touches my heart to see more than half the cell responding to God at the altar. God is moving in our midst. Jia You!!! Let's continue to grow close to Him k.

Ha... something to look forward to.... upcoming JEREMIAH CELL RETREAT! 8/8/08-9/8/08

Sounds like some publicity.... Haha
